Plan Ahead

Per-location planning: see the night's observing windows and which projects are best to image next

Plan Ahead helps you decide what to shoot. Pick a location and a date, and it shows the moon phase plus the night’s observing windows, then ranks which of your projects are worth imaging.

Here is the planning screen for one location:

Plan Ahead with moon phase row, an observing-window chart, and recommended projects

For each project it estimates visibility from the target’s altitude, how close the moon is, twilight times, and your filter windows, and compares the result with how much integration you already have. Projects that still need more time rise to the top, so you can fill the gaps rather than re-image what you already have.

  • Projects to set filter goals that these recommendations use.
